The Care 4 Program
We partner with domestic violence shelters, sexual assault organizations and agencies, law enforcement, hospital, social services, and the Community Justice Center of New Hanover County in order to provide victims of abuse and assault essential care and resources to women at the height of crisis.
It is our privilege to stand in the gap between hurt and hope for women in crisis. We recognize and acknowledge that there is a greater need for additional care during vulnerable seasons of life, and go above and beyond to love and encourage the women that cross our threshold.
The SPACE
We have created a safe space, and peaceful environment, with protection and discretion at the forefront.
The C4P is located directly across the street from the courthouse, making the transition from street to seat effortless and efficient. Waiting with us removes the stress of having unwanted encounters in the courthouse or its vicinity.
Free visitors parking is also available to those participating in the program.
The PEOPLE
The identities of the women receiving our care will not be disclosed to anyone that is not already advocating for them.
Only those approved by representives from the shelters and agencies will have direct contact to ensure full anonymity.
*All OPT representatives have up-to-date background checks and signed NDAs.
The EXPERIENCE
The Care 4 Program offers hair care and skin care applications from licensed professionals in their respective fields.
Each woman has the opportunity to choose a few items from our Care4Closet
An assortment of coffees, teas, juices and light breakfast items are provided
When needed, we are available to escort women to court and stay as long as needed. Although we cannot be a source of advise, we are a source of support and encouragement.
ALL services and products are free. Recipients will not be charged for any products or services received.
The VISION
Our own care is often neglected, especially during seasons of high stress, drastic change, and trauma induced circumstances. In these times of distress, we see the need for care that reaches beyond the basics - care that addresses outward as well as inward needs.
The women we serve will be given the necessary tools to help initiate simple healthy self care practices.
At Operation Pretty Things, we often say “you are not alone.” The Care4Program allows us to embody that sentiment, taking every opportunity to richly love on the women that cross our threshold.
